    Israel marks International Water day!
Founded on a dry strip of land smaller than Punjab, Israel has been suffering since antiquity from water shortage. Out of necessity, to meet the needs of people and economy, the country has brought about a water revolution by spearheading efforts to deal with water leakage, farming efficiency, recycling waste, desalination, pricing policy and education. Today, Israeli water industry is widely acknowledged as a world leader because of its efforts to aid water poor countries across Asia, Africa and America to benefit from the superior water technologies the country possesses. Next month (April 4-8), Israel will join “India Water Week ‘16” in Delhi, as a “Partner Country”. In the event, under the auspices of the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation,FICCI an Israeli pavilion will showcase Israelis technologies, know-how and companies in the water sector.
Behind Israel’s success story lays an integrated endeavor of Government, Business sector, Academic sector and the general public. Scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and administrators, from various fields, have generated – together – a considerable expertise and unique technologies ranging from water conservation and desalination, to water management and public awareness.
Today, as shortage of water becomes a global challenge, the Israeli wide spectrum of water solutions makes its agricultural and water technologies successful export branches of the country. With the growing partnership between India and Israel, especially in the field of agriculture, and in view of the shared challenges, Israel's water sector is opening up to India, offering  new partnerships through   transfer of knowledge and technologies,  joint development of new technologies, working together toward international standardization etc.
